Keep Lent with Us at Trinity Church

Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 17. Lent is forty days of worship, prayer, self-examination, fasting from self-indulgence, and sacrificial giving. The disciplines of invite us all to be renewed in baptismal grace, discovering once again the meaning of Christian life and discipleship. Lent concludes with the great Three Days that begin at sundown on Maundy Thursday, April 1 and conclude at sundown on Easter Day, Sunday, April 4.

The theme of Lent this year is A Story to Tell. With the aid of a devotional book, short video reflections on social media, and a series of midweek (Wednesdays at 6pm) gatherings online on ZOOM for worship and conversation, we will tell the story of Jesus through the witness of Mark, the writer of the second gospel book. Join us in these ways:

  1. Read daily in the devotional booklet, A Story to Tell. The booklets contain a short scripture text, something to ponder, a reflection, and a prayer for each day through Easter Day. The booklets are available to pick-up at Trinity Church in the nave. Large print editions are available. If you need a copy delivered to your home, please reach out to the church office at 508-753-2989; Kindle editions may be purchased on Amazon.
  2. Join in a 45-minute weekly time for worship and conversation on Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. online via ZOOM. During this time we will sing, pray, read the daily scripture, and be in conversation about the theme each week. The downloadable service order for the evening is available HERE.
