Music at Trinity: Advent Lessons & Carols November 28 at 4:00 p.m.

All are invited to the Annual Advent Lessons & Carols on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. in the Trinity Church Nave. Trinity Choir, under the direction of Cantor Mark Mummert, will lead a service of nine bible readings and nine hymns or anthems to begin the Advent season. Featured among the hymns are the newest Advent carols available to us in the new hymnal supplement, All Creation Sings.

The service also includes a blessing over Advent wreathes, intercessions, and time for meditation. Advent is a time of hope and expectation, of quiet waiting and watching, as the church prepares for Christmas and celebration of the light of the world, Jesus Christ, coming into the world. Advent waiting is an antidote to the crash commercialism and extreme hustle and bustle that mark our secular culture at this time of year.

A Do-it-yourself Advent wreath station is available on Sunday, November 28 from 9:00 a.m. through the start of the Advent Lessons and Carols service for those who wish to make their own advent wreathe for use in the home during the season. A donation of $5 at the DIY station helps defray the cost of materials.
