After a year-long pause because of the Coronavirus, Necessities for Neighbors is back! Each month we will be collecting different items that are needed by our neighbors who may be local or further away.
For the month of May, we will be collecting brand new underwear, socks and sports bras for our migrant neighbors who are at the US-Mexico border. Our donations will be sent to the ELCA congregation, Iglesia Luterana Cristo Rey in El Paso, TX. They work directly with those in need and will distribute our donations. Please purchase items that are:
- for children (any sizes appreciated)
- for adults (smaller sizes appreciated)
- brand new with tags or in packaging
- mostly cotton blend material
What if you aren’t able to go shopping in-store?
You can make a financial contribution in any amount to be used to purchase items on your behalf. Checks can be written out to Trinity Lutheran with “Necessities for Neighbors” in the memo line. You can also order items online (Amazon, Walmart etc.) and have things delivered to Trinity at:

What to do with your donations?
Just like we do with the Carty Food Cupboard donations that come in, you may bring your Necessities for Neighbors donations with you to in-person worship on Sundays and put them in the purple bin that will be located in the hallway. OR You may bring your donations to Trinity whenever the church office is open (Tuesdays-Thursdays from 10am-4pm). Please call the office (508) 753-2989 to ensure that someone is there.
