T.E.C Update – May

Spring is here are we are loving it!

On Friday, May 4, students from The T.E.C. School hosted a wonderful Spring Tea for their parents. Students from both classrooms prepared, served, and enjoyed tea with family. In the classroom, students are learning about countries and cultures of Asia.

The ritual of making tea in Japan, China and England is much more than pouring a cup of tea. Students learn the order and sequence of the process, they learn new words and experience a culture from far away lands.

The sensory elements of smell, color, taste, temperature, and the sight of tea slowly spreading in the water enhance the experience. The process of making tea also slows us down and allows the children to savor the moment, be observant and develop relationships with their friends as they make light conversation while sipping tea. It was a delightful experience!

We have two exciting events coming up! Join us at our events:

  • Gamification and Education Meetup on May 15 from 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m.

We will explore all types of games and their growing roles as potential tools for education! How do games accelerate learning? This event has two components: Hands-on games for children ages 3 to 13 years and an interactive discussion for parents, educators and game designers. Admission is $5 per person.

  • Take-A-Tour Tuesday on May 15, 22 and 29 from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

We offer personalized tours every week. Sign up now to join us on Tuesdays, to learn what The T.E.C. Difference can mean for your child.
