Beginning Sunday, September 8, Pastor Nathan, Cantor Mark, and Jena Hardy will be using new curriculum produced by Augsburg Fortress to lead small group dialogue on contemporary issues of race.
The seven-week curriculum is designed to create a safe space for opinions to be heard and respected, turning potential conflicts into community. Using a short DVD introduction and a participant book, participants will reflect together on such issues as the social construct of race, the Bible and race in the United States, the dehumanization of black bodies, intersecting natures of oppression, black and white Christianity, and struggles with racial reconciliation.
In order to make it as easy as possible to participate, the Ministry Staff will be offering three small groups each week. Participants are encouraged to choose one group and stick with it throughout the seven weeks.
- Sundays at 9 a.m. – Pastor Nathan
- Sundays at 11:45 a.m. – Cantor Mark
- Wednesdays at 7:15 p.m. – Jena (Hardy) Hill
Please plan on participating and RSVP to a member of the ministry staff.
