Trinity International Dinner & Meal Packing Fund Raiser – Sept. 29th

Fundraising for meal packing has begun!

We invite you and your friends to join us for our 1st Annual International Dinner at 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 29!  This will be an evening of food, fellowship, and music, and it will also serve as a fundraiser for our November meal-packing event.  It will be a celebration of diversity…old traditions, as well as the energy and life that new members and immigrants bring to us.

Those interested in cooking will prepare foods from a country or region with which they have some connection or interest.  Foods will be arranged on tables decorated with memorabilia, such as photos, small flags, etc. of the represented country or region.  Cooks at each table may wish to share the history of their dish.  During the event, attendees (and cooks) will be able to sample “small bites” of a wide variety of foods.  Each cook will prepare 1 or 2 dishes, each large enough to serve 10-16.  Desserts will all be together on a table labeled as “Heavenly Bites”.  Cantor Mark will be leading festive music during the evening.

So far, we have commitments for “coordinators” of the following tables:  Greece, Italy, Ireland, Germany, and the Cajun region of New Orleans.  We’re hoping for a Swedish table, as well as an “All-American” table. The possibilities are endless, so please contact Thom Tarquinio [[email protected], or (601) 954-9315] if you would like to head up a table.  Even if you are not cooking, please just come to enjoy the food and fellowship!  We will be accepting donations to help fund our next meal-packing event, which will be held on November 3.

The event will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church on Saturday, September 29.  The church will open at 4:30 p.m. to allow those bringing food to do any final food prep/cooking and to allow time to set up and decorate the tables.  Dinner will start at 6 p.m.
