I have had questions about how to help globally, since the USAID program has been cut. I received the following from Doreen Rinas, Chair of the New England Synod World Hunger Team. Thank you for your generosity!

With USAID funds to Augusta Victoria Hospital having been cut, our donations to ELCA World Hunger are especially needed to continue serving this Lutheran World Federation (LWF) medical facility. Its specialties include comprehensive cancer and diabetes care, kidney care, skilled nursing and long-term care. Our contributions to ELCA World Hunger have helped to provide:

Doctors at Augusta Victoria Hospital told ELCA staff that its quick and immediate response to the hospital’s urgent need for aid not only helped provide critical supplies, but also made them feel that “the world had not forgotten them.”

Our donations to ELCA World Hunger make a “world of difference” to people in need at Augusta Victoria Hospital serving 5 million Palestinians in the West Bank & Gaza.
