Reformation Sunday / Twenty-first Sunday after Pentecost (Lectionary 30A)

We invite you to worship with us at one of our two weekend liturgies. A prerecorded online sung Service of the Word is made available at https://vimeo.com/trinityworcester by 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays for home worship.

An in-person Holy Eucharist is held in the Trinity Nave at 10:00 a.m. Sundays with attendees wearing masks and following posted physical distancing guidelines. Up to six singers with masks will sing from the organ gallery during the liturgy. The assembly will not sing. We commune with the bread only, received directly from the Presiding Minister in mask and gloves.

Both liturgies are based on the appointed Sunday scripture readings. In light of the ongoing risk posed by the Coronavirus we invite you to make a responsible and healthy decision in experiencing God’s Word in the liturgy right for you and your family.

BIBLE READINGS, PSALM & SONG, & THEMES

Leviticus 19:1-2, 15-18 Acts of justice

    1 Thessalonians 2:1-8 The apostle’s concern

Matthew 22:34-46 Loving God and neighbor

Psalmody: Psalm 1 Their delight is in the law of the Lord

Hymn of the Day: Hymn 358, Great God, Your Love Has Called Us Here, RYBURN

Two of the readings this coming Sunday include the words, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” What does this actually mean in our daily lives? Come to worship, to meditate upon the word of God and to join in the meal of fellowship and forgiveness. We’ll also celebrate the festival of Reformation Day and pray for the church and the ongoing reformation.
