Christ the King / Last Sunday after Pentecost (Lectionary 34A)

We invite you to worship with us at one of our two weekend liturgies. A prerecorded online sung Service of the Word is made available at https://vimeo.com/trinityworcester by 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays for home worship.

An in-person Holy Eucharist is held in the Trinity Nave at 10:00 a.m. Sundays with attendees wearing masks and following posted physical distancing guidelines. Up to six singers with masks will sing from the organ gallery during the liturgy. The assembly will not sing. We commune with the bread only, received directly from the Presiding Minister in mask and gloves.

Both liturgies are based on the appointed Sunday scripture readings. In light of the ongoing risk posed by the Coronavirus we invite you to make a responsible and healthy decision in experiencing God’s Word in the liturgy right for you and your family.

BIBLE READINGS, PSALM & SONG, & THEMES

Ezekiel 34:11-16, 20-24 God will shepherd Israel

Ephesians 1:15-23 The reign of Christ

Matthew 25:31-46 The separation of sheep and goats

Psalmody: Psalm 95:1-7a We are the people of God’s pasture and the sheep of God’s hand

Hymn of the Day: Hymn 431, O Christ, What Can It Mean for Us, ALL SAINTS NEW

Are you a sheep or a goat? Lutherans believe that each of us is both saint and sinner, both sheep and goat. Come to worship this coming Sunday, the last Sunday of the church year, when we will praise Christ as the great judge who gathers us around his throne both now and at the end of time.

Whether you are a life-long Christian or beginning to explore spirituality for the first time, you are welcome at Trinity Lutheran Church. We are committed to God through prayer and service to our neighbor, proclaiming God’s grace, mercy and peace to a world in need.
