Christians know that Jesus was born to die for us; and thus in our worship the reality of death is never far from our celebrations of life in Christ. The gospel this Sunday is the horrific story of Herod killing all the young children of Bethlehem in hopes of eliminating Jesus from the scene. Come to worship: in the midst of death we praise God’s steadfast love, and we receive the blessings God gives.
